is this further evidence of a connection problem?
I find it really slow to load pages even though the interface seems really fast, slower than IE7 or 8. And I'm still surprised it lacks extension suppport in the full release. The beta seems a little bugged to me too.
How are other people finding it at the moment?

I'm finding it works fine. I'm not seeing any huge speed improvements over Firefox or anything, but it's solid, stable, and never gives me any problems.
What version are you using? I'm in the beta channel, and I have 4.0.295.0 installed.

Ive been using it a good few months exclusively and found it works much smoother under Win7 than the bloatware that is Firefox ever did.

I'm using version 4.0.249.64. It says its a stable version but I did update to the beta and it does have extensions.
I have some problems with connecting to FTP so I'm wondering if that is related to the Chrome issues I'm having. Got to ring some tech support to make enquiries.

Chrome isnt a fully fledged web browser, many legitimate site wont even work with it. And its isnt that secure. I suggest either firefox or opera.

Meh? I have yet to experience a site that flat out refused to work with Chrome since I've started using it exclusively. For all intents and purposes, it works just as well as Firefox.

I haven't found anything that doesn't work with Chrome either, save for this one survey that I took. I've had very few problems and have found that it's faster than IE or Firefox, especially when you have lots of tabs open.

I don't use chrome for the simple fact, that Chrome send lots of data back to google and I don't trust google not abuse this. That and the two cnuts that own google and their attitude on privacy.

Are you talking about the anonymous usage statistics? You can opt out of that during install.
Even with Googles admittedly cavalier stance on privacy, I doubt they'd continue to track your data through their browser after specifically stating for them not to. It'd end up turning into a shitstorm they'd probably rather avoid.
