As I'm getting a broadband connection soon and I wouldn't mind giving it another try. Is there any organised TTLG thingy or does anybody know a busy server type place?

There are still a few good servers running, though not nearly as many as most games. A good bet is GODZ server, but it sometimes lags especially when running their custom maps (which aren't that great anyway ;) ). Also there are quite a few spawnkillers etc. Jim Bowen's is also good if you like the custom weps. Most of the clan servers, particularly [CA] lately, are also good for playing more experience players.

Thanks for the tips. I just checked out Gamespy's online server thingamabob and that seemed to have 41 players online, which isn't bad.

hurrrruh. I wouldn't mind getting into some DX multiplayer. I'd like to think it's really good. ;) In any case, count me in if you want to organise a few games.

The good thing about the relatively small DXMP community is that there are very few lamers and cheaters. Of course we have our share, but not nearly as many as in other games. There are several clans up and about too (I am a member of one). Unfortunately most people play noaugs, which I find sad. My clan specializes in augmented combat.

I'd be up for it, though only for about a half hour at a time, during PST in the evenings. Maybe we can get a multiplayer list going here. I'm MatticusX on AIM, and there's no way you'll ever get me to install anything GameSpy.

I'm on every now and then, under the same name as here. I've stopped for a while after I joined a rash of bad games. (spawncampers and teamkillers) But i do have to admit that holding off a team of 10 in the hangar in area 51 with just 2 other people is truly an amazing experience. We managed for 10 minutes!

I agree completely. DX was the first MP game I ever played, and later played UT. I was completely overwhelmed by the number of TKers and SKers. I notice in UT2K4 there are never more than 2 servers with team damage turned on at all...
