Great list, but what exactly is the point of the Tango Icon Pack? Just different icons?

How about a nice easy to use program that automatically removes SpySheriff? Please tell me I dont have to do the stuff myself. I will break something, I know it. AVG refuses to remove the thing.
I should have mentioned ewido myself. Got it when I got AVG. I ran it after I ran AdAware and it found a lot of stuff AdAware missed. Still wont kill SpySheriff though. :erg:
Oh and I forgot about ccleaner. Nice little program that.
There's also a program called What's Running? (
http://www.whatsrunning.net/whatsrunning/main.aspx) http://www.whatsrunning.net/whatsrunning/main.aspx. Another nice program that lets you get a detailed look at what processes and programs are actually running on your computer.

That firewall pretty much kicks ass, not that I really have need of one and it will probably just slow me down a little but it has alot of nice features.

If it is any relation to SpyWareTrooper (and I am pretty sure they are AKAs for the same scam) I believe you will have to do the manual removal thingy - or buy the "spyware busting" software it advertises which will instantly "fix" the problem it has created.
Because it tricked you into accepting the install (with a fake NO button) no malware removers I know of can deal with it.
Try this - (

BTW - Thank you all for the helpful proggies

I've always had success in removing SpySheriff with Spybot S&D.

My cousin's computer was infected with Spy Sheriff (courtesy of yours truly foolishly utilizing IE on a particular site; no FF/Opera available), and it was the worst malware infestation I've ever had to deal with. He ended up just formatting

Military-Grade SecuritySome of the apps even admit that their security is flawed, so calling it "military-grade" is somewhat disengenuous.

I'm liking the Comodo Firewall and Startup Delayer, thanks for those! :)
I'm recommending (
http://www.samurize.com/modules/news/) Samurize which is primarily a CPU/RAM usage & uptime utility, however it is completely customisable and has loads of cool user-made modules and a nice WYSIWYG editor.
I'm currently using it like this:

(
http://www.punksoftware.com/rocketdock) RocketDock - If you've used or seen Mac OSX then you should know what the Dock is. This is a similar kind of program, but for Windows. There are several around, but this one is free and has dual monitor support, which is a must for me.

http://www.ttlg.com/dave/rocketdock.jpgAs for Firefox extensions most of mine are developer-related, however (
http://ietab.mozdev.org/) IE Tab should be on everyone's list. It allows you to run IE in a tab inside Firefox and lets you switch back and forth between the Firefox and IE rendering engines at a click of a button. Best of all is a list of sets you can set to automatically run in IE when you visit them. Heading over to WindowsUpdates.com? The IE rendering engine kicks in so you can download the updates without having to start another browser. Aces!
