*wonders if dethtoll and GMDX are one and the same person*
I waste my time arguing with bored teenagers who tell me to kill myself on a daily basis, not on an over-ambitious Deus Ex mod that doesn't really add much to the game. You're confusing me with DaveW.

I thought you meant Revision :D. GMDX actually does change up the game quite a bit. But that's another topic.

Fair enough

This comic is what I am talking about. Have you forgotten the terrible FMV games? Busted drivers for the six trillion startups' hardware? Games that were basically advertisements for things like Lifesavers mints?
Don't get me wrong, I don't think that gaming has gotten much better. The culture is sub-sophomoric to a nauseating degree, "retro" indie games are lazy at best made by self-important manchildren, kickstarter makes it 10000 times easier to pull a Duke Nukem Forever, games treat players like morons, AAA games are so bland and homogenized that I am able to forget any given one before I even exit the game...
What I am trying to say is that gaming has always been vaguely shit. It's just that the gems shine so bright, that it is difficult to not forgive the mountains of garbage.

Perhaps. But as I said, even the non-gems in the past could often have something going for them I found. Take the build engine games: DN3D is the one everyone remembers, achieved acclaim and ends up in lists, but Shadow Warrior & Blood were pretty darn good too, even if they were "clones".

I dunno how anyone can justify worshipping the decade that gave us fucking Myst.

And now you're back to do it again. Thanks for nothing. Can't you go to a Call of Duty forum or something since that's more your thing, instead of shitting on one of the best upcoming mods for one of our favorite game of all time. The forum hasn't seen that much activity in months, and now's the time you choose to return. I wonder why that is...
