you don't need to garnish with phrases like "non-game", "garbage", "mindless"
The use of "mindless" is very appropriate though. It haven't used it derogatorily. A lot of modern games can be played on auto-pilot, again because of automation and extremely lopsided game rules in favor of the player. They can be very mindless to play in comparison to older counterparts.
@Nameless Voice: maybe there is hope for the future, yet I will forever remain skeptical. Too many burns post 2006.

Mindless is very non-descriptive though and definitely derogatory. "Simplified" might be a more neutral way to put it. Your entire tone just comes across as "right philistines, here's how things are and if you like X, it's because you're OK with lower standards". If that's not how you intend to come across, then you might like to work on your delivery.

GMDX Dev, you have literally called our tastes garbage and instantly dismissed any game I will ever produced as meaningless in gaming discussion because I am an indie.
Do you honestly not realize how this makes you an asshole?

You'll find that there are many games from any videogame decade with many games you play on autopilot.
The 80s for example DEFINITELY has many considering the highscore beating mechanic common to them.
Pretty much any first person shooter you play on auto pilot once your used to the gameplay. That's just the way the mind works and it's of no detriment to the games at all.
Really come to think of it, any game you play for more than an hour is going to be more of an auto pilot type thing after a while for the same reasons.

That doesn't mean that those games are good - some are not - but they are still mainstream games in the listed genres.
Yeah, I wouldn't call many of those games remotely good, but I didn't want to filter the list based on my taste.
Another series I forgot, that fits multiple genres that he mentioned, is obviously the Bohemia-developed Operation Flashpoint/ArmA games.

Honestly, I think most of the 90's was total garbage compared to where things seemed like they were headed in the 80's, but I'm not going to sit here and be like LOL U PPL R IGNRANT because I don't share the same opinion as someone else. This dude is like Koki without the "making me laugh" aspect.
