Re platforming in FPP games - anyone played Dying Light?
I've wanted to since I heard the word "parkour", but I haven't yet due to backlog issues.

I find that unlikely, you're human and I've pissed you off. Are you sure it wasn't at least a bit of both?
I am not pissed off. And I wasn't attacking you. I was calling you out. There's a difference (at least in my mind). The "enlightened gamer among the clueless" has been the image that you've been projecting in this thread.

Something I will bear in mind for future discussion.

I actually dont really remember any platforming in SS2, but then again, I have only ever got to the recreation level, the bit where you have to find the code amongst the digital paintings.

There's lifts and ladders and narrow walkways in a few places. Not really heavy platforming, but a few bits where you can fall to your death or otherwise need to clamber around the place.

Yeh thats true, I dont think I will ever finish that damn game, its just too intense.

It's strange, SS2 is in my top 5 favourite games, but I haven't completed it because the final level just made me lose interest. It's very much like Xen in HL - just a bit too disparate from the rest of the game, which I was enjoying very much.

For me, most of the platforming sections in the later levels have a similar effect in HL. At one time you're shooting aliens in a secret research facility and next you're in a factory designed by an M.C. Escher wannabe, dodging machinery that doesn't really make any sense.

Totally agree with the Half Life thing, loved the game until the Zen section which was just really quite stupid. The amount of times I have started a new game of SS2 but never completed is crazy.

Same for me, but then SS2 is just that good. I really hope SS3 actually gets finished and lives up to itself. No mean feat though.
