Someone said that, in an interview... Warren Spector had said that the PC version would have an alternate UI available. I want to know if this is still going to be the case in the final version.
And, looking back at some of the old screenshots that showed a more normal looking PC interface, I think what they had looked GREAT! I'd really like to see that interface made available as an option.
This is the interface in question:

I know this thread is supposed to be about a poll, but I can't resist. Its my last off topic here, I promise.
I quite like the look of the new interface myself. I'd have prefered some phospher glow and burn effects and more animated bits, things growing and shrinking and sliding and rotating in and out of view as you need them, but yeah, the retina thing works for me. What troubles me is the way that clicking on an icon selects it. clicking on another icon doesn't select it, but instead swaps icons around. Eeek where'd my icon go. wtf. we have dragging and dropping for that stuff. And sometimes we click on an 'ok' button to accept. Sometimes we press escape to accept. sometimes we press escape to cancel. Press Tab to drop/press Tab to modify/press Enter to cancel/Press Escape to Enter. Huh?
I'm sure it all makes good sense with an Xbox controller, but its a cack-handed knightmare on PC.
And fancy making a game that doesn't run on geforce mx systems? And those perfromance issues, And the lifeless architecture at herons gate, and the wooden ai. I can't believe I ticked average. I want to tick poor. Some of its good though.:D

I voted Average. As it is, Invisible War will be great on XBox, but PC version needs some tweaking. Luckily it has been shown that many of the issues in demo were due poor setting optimization, which can be easily fixed by editing the default.ini file.
I do hope they give us pc players more buttons. As I've stated in the "first impressions" thread, buttons for dropping & unequipping items would notably ease the gaming experience.
The War is not lost yet... If not won either.

I'm not planning on buying it. Which is sad because DX2 has been my most anticipated game, and I was ready to buy the game the day it came out even without playing a demo. I feel that all of the well voiced complaints with the game are quite valid, and I really hope that IonStorm does something to rectify the situation.
Not only that, but it runs like crap! I've got a AMD XP Barton @ 2800+, 512DDR, GF4Ti4400, and I get ~30 in the Greasel pit. Even at 640x480 w/ details on low, it runs at 30. Something is wrong there.

When I look at that picture Dorkproject put up I don't think of the interface...I think "perky".

It seems that the majority of people complaining about performance have a GeForce card...
Fina, did you try with multisampling x1, bloom on (multisampling is redundant with bloom on)? With those settings the demo runs fine for me at 1024x768 resolution (AMD 2400+, Radeon 9600 pro). When I'm trying multisampling > x2, bloom off, the demo gets jerky.

~30 in the most stressing area of the demo is actually pretty good.

not if you dont have a 2.8 gig monster rig with a heavy weight graphics card it isn't. (damn, I prommised. I'm sorry)
Fina on 25/11/2003 at 22:17
I've tried a whole bunch of different graphical options, nothing seems to make any difference.
