I'd suggest just putting the server IP in your HOSTS file for the time being. I'm going to quote gunny here:

Oh, that's it. If you put the whole thing in, it works. Everything else just ends up redirecting to ttlg.com.

I'm still happy to help with secondary DNS as I've described earlier. There are a couple of good free places that will handle secondary DNS trivially (such as afraid.org which I use for thiefmissions) or I have my own DNS servers and can set up secondary DNS pretty easily.

It's one of the dialog choices you can select right after being shot from the Fettuccine Brothers' cannon, but it's one of the several references in the game to Loom.
