It shouldn't be completely empty - it should have some comment lines at the very least beginning with "#" at the start of the file. However, assuming you have the right file just add a line containing:
74.208.213.90 (
www.ttlg.com)
to the end of the file. Once these DNS problems are sorted it's best to remove it, however as otherwise it will "lock" the (
www.ttlg.com) domain to that IP address and could cause you problems if it changes in future (as it did earlier this year).
Some hosted pages such as thief-thecircle.com also won't work well at the moment as they rely on the same nameservers that are currently broken.

Got it. Did it. Works. Thanks. How will I know when the DNS problems are solved?
Tough to edit with Vista64. Had to right click on notepad.exe, run as administrator, then from in notepad, browse to the %systemroot%\system32\drivers\etc and open hosts, then edit it and save. You need the admin privileges to save the changes.

Start a command prompt (no need for "run as administrator") and type:
nslookup ttlg.com
If it gives you a timeout error or a server fail error then it's not working yet.
Edit: One of the two nameservers is back up now so it should be working as normal again.

DNS fails again

So...I understand if Saam is too busy to babysit the DNS server, but has he at least taken a look at the event logs to try and determine why exactly the darn thing keeps going down? I mean, once or twice a year isn't really an issue (since we're not running a business or anything), but this has been happening more frequently than that.

I'm currently logged in through A SWAN from Canada into the USA. I wasn't able to get to (
www.ttlg.com), but when I started to panic and search found (
http://ttlg.ttlg.mobi).
I haven't tried from home yet. This was very freaky for me because the page has been down and was finding very little info about any DNS issue out there.
Wtf, will I ever do without the forum? Can anyone point me to a printed explanation on whatever the issue is?
TY

Hmm, not for me, I get in fine with that.

That's odd, because ttlg.ttlg.mobi has been redirecting me for a few months now (and still is). Maybe it depends on the region you're in or the DNS servers you hit on the way? Don't know why it would, though.
