Grab two diamonds and go to the Apothecary's shop in the Foreign Quarter. Set your mercantile skill to 100, and sell one of them, recording the amount of gold that was originally offered for it. Then set your mercantile skill to 10 and do the same thing, comparing the amount of gold she offers you for the diamond to the amount of gold she offered you for the diamond when your mercantile skill was 100. Yes, be afraid. Be very afraid.

I admire how much spare time you must have to notice something like that and then post it on a forum which is pretty much useless to us. If only I was that observant in Morrowind.

Well, maybe I was just trying to find out any anyone knows why this wasn't fixed in a patch, especially when it's so obvious when you're playing a game. You don't have to be an ass just because I noticed something, nor do you have to turn every thread I start into a flame.

(replying to the first post)
When you say set I guess you mean with the console? Cause you're not supposed to do that so there's no need to fix it in a patch.

Not necessarily. Setting your level in a certain skill (like Mercantile) to 100 with the console is basically the same as slowly working your way up to 100 by training, so any effects you experience while setting your skill with the console would also occur if you had attained a 100 skill level honestly.

I noticed that when I tried to sell Diamonds and Rubies (to anyone) they were sold at half price, and they wouldn't except them at full price even with a disposition at 100... It's the same with raw glass too. I don't know if this is what you were pointing out Exile. But I hope they fix it... I have precious stones up the wazoo and I'm not going to sell them for half price.

I don't know if this is what you were pointing out Exile.
What happened was that when I attempted to sell the two diamonds with a mercantile of 10, I got the original suggested price for them as almost 550... With a mercantile of 100, I got exactly half as much.

this happens sometimes:
I enter the barterwindow and choose what I want to sell/buy and see what the suggested price is. Since I'm not happy with it I exit the barter window and increase the merchants disposition towards me. Then I enter the barterwindow again, trying to sell the same item and the price is much lower/higher (to the worse)

This is while keeping the disposition the same.

I didn't mean it that way Exile, I just meant it seems pretty useless to me. I've never noticed that though, since I mod more than play Morrowind these days.
