Playing the game for the first time - been trying to find a copy for years and now got it off of steam. woohoo! anywho, is there any way to cancel the effect of a long-lasting spell? I used levitate to explore the ice caves on level 2, but since you can't actually move up or down while levitating, I wanted to cast it from a higher location, but I can't cancel the effect of my first spell. I've left it or 1/2 hour and when I come back I'm still stuck in the air. how can I solve this?

The only way I know of is to go into Use mode (bring up the inventory), then double-click on the icon for the spell in the top right-hand corner of the screen.

It should not last that long at all. Make sure your copy is patched to 1.17

If it was cast from a scroll then it will last until dispelled - at least that's been my experience in the Steam version.

I think in the original version of the game the number 4 key on the quick-slot dispelled any currently active spell.
I don't have the game currently installed so I can't confirm the validity of my statement.
