The code for that lockbox is in one of the contracts you get for the mission.

I'm playing this now. 4 hours in, almost done with the hospital-island-mission. High Chaosing it up as Emily.
It's good, but I did have one disappointing moment where I found the systems weren't as robust as I'd hoped. I turned objective indicators off to immerse myself more in the world, and it was working ok until I got to the bit where I have to get blood from a bloodfly-infested corpse. So, I grabbed a recently knocked out guard and threw her body near some bloodflies. As they swarmed her I had a twinge of unease about what I'd done, but after they were done I crept up to the body, hoping for a "collect blood" prompt. Nada. So I tried throwing another corpse at some other bloodflies. No go on that one either. Not sure what I was doing wrong, I consulted a walkthrough. Seems it has to be blood from a specific corpse that's already existing in the world. I had to turn objective markers back on so I could find the thing.
So, uh, so much for the game letting you think for yourself. I suppose I should just leave objective markers on and let the game lead me around by the nose? Or how often will this kind of thing happen? Is it feasible to play with them off?

I dunno, I've played all the Dishonored games and DLC without objective markers and never had an issue, but apparently other people do.

I never had any issues with markers off. And if you do have to turn them on once or twice if you're really stuck, it's better than having them on for the whole game, right?

There was a completely bullshit objective in one of the DLCs which I got stuck on where you had to meet your assassins. I was searching for ages, and it turned out to be a spot where they just teleport in. There's no way you'd know without the markers turned on.

Somebody needs to send Arkane a strongly worded letter that asks to see their immersive sim license because it seems to have expired and is due for a renewal.
Seriously though, those moments made it obvious to me they didn't seriously play test all the way through with the markers turned off, but they're still better and more open ended than most games so, I wouldn't say they get a pass for it, but it's a forgiveable flub in the grand scheme of things they should try harder to avoid in the future.

If it's just a few sections then it's not so bad really. It can't be worse than in the 90s when adventure games had the kookiest puzzles, and the internet wasn't the thing that it is today.

I think it's actually worse now in this respect: most devs develop games to be played with objective markers on. It's not always as bad as Bethesda in their RPGs, but you can count the modern games where you can switch the mission markers off and it doesnt become immediately frustrating on one hand.

Glad to hear I'm not alone with the objective markers issue. I'll leave them off, and only turn them on if I get stuck again.

So I
walked snuck into the conservatory, and I swear that entrance was constructed just to frame a shot like the one below. Couldn't not take it, really.
