Gomna try a ghost run, but it seems insanely hard.

It really isn't. Just a little bit of forethought about routes is all that's needed to blaze right through it. You're not really using resources, so don't need much money, and you quickly hit a point where you have all of the stealth powers you need so don't need to think about getting more runes.

I played non-lethal but knocked out lots of guys, sometimes clearing whole areas so I could casually stroll around searching for loot. It's definitely harder to ghost than D1. I was able to ghost most of the missions in D1 without a lot of trial and error and with minimal use of magic. I started out trying to ghost in D2 but it took too much saving and reloading.

Caruso manor, eh? 3 levels in 1? Crazy stuff. Word of warning: Don't kill Stilton until you've gotten all the runes & charms from the present!

New Dishonored betapatch came out today. It introduces custom difficulty (haven't fiddled with this yet) and adds mission selection/restarting. It also addresses tons and tons of gameplay-oriented bugs.

Here's a nicely languorous article on Dishonored 2's architecture from Kill Screen that leaves out their usual fustian tone, and is all the more interesting to read for it: (

While I wouldn't say all of DH2's worldbuilding is as successful as the article paints it (different waves of settlers shaped the landmass?), I do love when details coalesce to form a whole, and it turns out there's a fair bit of that going in DH2.

Quick update: I'm currently in Jindosh's mansion - and while I love it as a place, I don't actually enjoy playing it. Which is mostly my fault: in games, I'm not particularly creative or flexible, I tend to find an approach I enjoy and stick to that, yet my favoured approach (stealth takedowns, varied only slightly with powers) doesn't work with the Clockwork Soldiers. I'll have to retrain myself in order to enjoy the level more.

Psssst....drop-assassinations. Also using a bolt to knock their heads off if there's more than one around and you want them to fight each other.

Or you can just put a fully upgraded Stun Mine or Springrazor in their way, which kills them, and this doesn't even count as a detection. Or sneak up on their side and rewire them (it counts as a detection though IIRC, if they see you afterwards).

Anyone refused the Outsider yet? I'm about to do it as Corvo, and replaying the first mission non-lethally (my last run was fuck-everyone-Emily) I forgot how hard things are before you get some magick. I have a feeling this playthrough is going to be painful.
