We're actually talking in coded anagrams, JSYK.

Abysmal's soul is not on fire for high fidelity graphics.
Though on a serious note, I'd say we've reached a point where games can replicate the look of a good Jim Henson movie. We're provided a heavily stylized sort of photorealism these days.

What the hell is up with all these acronyms? Did Sesame Street blow up or something?
Ah, Renz :)
You're OK.

Haven't head much time to play yet. Got a question.
It seems you can skip a large part of the first map ? Is it OK to do that ? Or should I go back ? If it's no problem to skip a large part of the map, is that true for all levels ?
In the Streets of Dunwall you can hop on a train, and skip that long street. That seems like a large part of the map. It seems you can then finish the map without any hinderance. Is it smart to go back and explore all the houses and buildings along the street with the train track ?
I assume it has a bunch of coins and health-vials. I don't care much about those. But is there anything really worthwhile that I am skipping ? Something lore related ? Something fun ? Some equipment I can't get later in other maps ? There is a map at the end of the street, indicating 5 points of interest. (Gate, armory, pub, and something else). The fact that there is a map seems to indicate I should visit those 5 places.I saw this article:
(
https://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2016/12/23/why-dishonored-2-allows-you-to-skip-its-finest-content/#more-420889)
Read a bit of it, trying to not read spoilers.
Usually I'm a completionist in games. But this time I was thinking of doing things at a slightly faster pace. But I'm not sure if I should skip so much content at once.

Ultimately it really depends on both your playstyle and how much you care about exploration. There are at least two special actions I can think of on the first level down that street, but they doesn't affect anything later in the game as far as I can see (I'm on the Dust District mission at the moment). Throughout the game there are different readables which are for the most part worth looking at in my opinion, but Dishonored 2 does suffer a bit as its predecessor did from the reappearance of a number of books. If you care about upgrading your powers later, there are runes and bonecharms spread all over the place to encourage exploration. If you're going to do a no powers run then loot or blueprints (which seem to be mission exclusive) would probably be a bigger incentive to look around.
As for the article, I just found out about half an hour ago that it is very true. I solved the puzzle in about 2 minutes with more luck than good management (I was actually just trying to organize it based on the couple of pieces of information I knew for sure). I'm going to look around the district some more before continuing since there's a whole mess of runes and bonecharms scattered about.

The way I've been playing right now is a.) do some mild casing/exploration and finish side objectives when possible before picking a way to attack the primary goal(s) b.) complete my objectives c.) finish collecting runes/bonecharms after everything's wrapped up. Sort of a compromise between ruining it with anal retentive exploration and just running in willy-nilly.

Though I'm loving D2, I just got to the 7th mission (A Crack in the Slab) and have to say that I'm not crazy about the whole 'time travel' thing (have to disagree with you on this one, Renz ;) ). The time device can a bit confusing; flashing back and forth between time periods is frustrating and a tad disorienting. While I enjoy playing this sequel, I'm a little disappointed that they made it more supernatural-themed (Delilah, the psycho witch) and less about Corvo (or Emily) defeating non-supernatural bad guys who want to take over the throne. But then again, I've never been a fan of games that have an overabundance of witches, ghosts, zombies, etc., in them; same goes for the 'dream sequences'. I remember getting seriously irritated with a couple of the Far Cry games because of the damned dream sequences. I was also a little overwhelmed from the start at how many Bone Charms there are scattered throughout each mission, but I like how you can 'lock' onto one in particular and go just for that one. This is only my first play-thru and I have a bad habit of kind of blasting through a game the first time, then going back and replaying more slowly, but there's no doubt that I'll be replaying D2 a few more times. In spite of the minor irritations (which I usually feel with ANY new game I'm playing because face it, no game is perfect), I do love it. But I've always loved games that put the emphasis on being stealthy rather than directly confronting your adversaries at each turn. Go figure.
P.S. Also, I guess Arkane didn't get the memo that my Daud killed Delilah in Dishonored's 'The Brigmore Witches' DLC. Rather a shock to find out that she survived. ;) ;)

Well, she is a witch... maybe it doesn't work the same way.
For those who have done it - any recs for getting this to run on a low end system without looking like absolute crap? I can get a decent frame rate, but only when running adaptive resolution at 720p, which makes the whole thing look so blurry that I basically can't make out what's going on at all since the scenes are all so detailed.

Why is that a bad habit? I noticed a lot of people on this forum are some kind of first-playthrough-completionists, but I play pretty much every game the way you mentioned, did so with Dishonored 2 too. First playthrough was a casual stealthy one, didn't even get half the bonecharms and stuff. Did that on the second one, that was full ghost and non-lethal, and I still have the flesh and steel playthrough left. Same with Deus Ex MD, right now I'm on my second playthrough finishing side missions I missed and exploring the area. Or with the Dark Souls games, where I summon help for everything on the first run, and then try to solo everything and do other challenges on later playthroughs.

Don't use adaptive res, set it to 720p proper, run in window, and then manually stretch the window to your monitor's size. It still won't be super sharp, by for me it was better that way than with adaptive.

Err, that IS actually part of the plot.
