I tried out the patch that's in beta and it brought some modest performance improvements. The throne room at the beginning no longer takes a nose-dive, and the strange mouse sensitivity seems to be fixed.
My performance is now good enough to play through on medium.

What are your specs, Neb, and what resolution are you running at?
Neb on 18/11/2016 at 18:10
i5 4690k @ 3.5 GHz, XFX R9 390 8 GB, 16 GB RAM, running it at 1080p.
I think there is another patch scheduled, not sure. Also, don't take this as me saying all is fixed now.
EDIT: Patch included fix for cloth physics on AMD systems.

Right, so first impressions: plots a bunch of wank, standard, movement feels SO nice, I really like that I can just not opt to have a cheating magic teleport. Haven't got anywhere near a serious mission yet but so far this is great. And seriously, the mantling system is gorgeous.

Yes, there will be a second patch.

The game never ran badly for me, apart from the sudden stuttering drop in framerate that'd come and go after a few seconds which happened, maybe, twice during my entire first playthrough. The only real complaint I could have is that my machine couldn't maintain a consistent 60FPS with everything set to high, but that's just nitpicking. Though for the sake of testing, I updated to the latest drivers, and grabbed the beta patch to see what it'd do.
Differences? Not much. Performance seems to be about the same, though the mouse tracking on the SC does seem to be a little less floaty now.
STILL CAN'T SKIP THE SPLASH LOGOS.
For reference, my machine is an i5 4590 @ 3.3Ghz, a Geforce GTX 970 4GB, and 8GB ram.
edit: and the game just up and crashed on me. Weird.

Is there a way to make leaning 'hold'? Like only lean as long as you hold down Q or E? Also, I hope the devs add the option to turn off motion blur. I have every setting on very low, and it's still there. And it's annoying. On the other hand, the game is reasonably playable on an R7 260x. :D
Seriously? If you're managing on a card that old, there may be hope for me after all...
And yeah vivian, I can't even remember the plot of DH1... never been the strong suit of the series. The world and the gameplay make the game.

That works well enough. Thanks. :D
