If I didnt really like the first season of AvED is this one worth checking out? Love the original trilogy but this just didnt do it for me, and I really wanted to like it.

I'd say S1 was fairly uneven but found its footing in the last few episodes with the cabin. Season 2 so far has been far more confident and assured and is worth checking out; it also has the most horrible/hilarious sequence involving a corpse I've ever seen on a TV show, which may or may not make you an immediate fan or put you off the whole enterprise immediately.

Oh GAWD, that scene. You know, if you consider yourself a fan of Evil Dead, you'll pretty much go into it assuming you've seen it all. Gallons of blood. Tons of guts. Decapitations galore. At least 10 lopped off limbs per episode. It's so over the top, it's obviously meant to be more gross and funny than shocking. It's there to make you go EWW!
But after awhile, what more can they do to gross you out?
...oh, they found a way.
I just sat there in stunned silence after watching it. I couldn't believe they did that. It's just...just...OH GAWD!

Looks like I'm waiting until they patch the hell out of this.

For those playing, how is the voice acting? Think any of Corvo's lines are gonna end up in Thief fan missions?
van HellSing on 13/11/2016 at 22:01
Corvo sounds a bit... tired, honestly, from what I've heard. I'm loving the ever-living fuck of the game so far though.
Oh, and technically: I'm running a combination of high/very hight settings on a 770, runs fine for me.

I think Stephen was pretty spot on when he said that Corvo's voice came from a different part of his mouth than Garrett, because while you can tell it's him he's obviously going for something completely different. Corvo is more world-weary, without the quick sarcasm that Garrett has.

Man, I thought the Clockwork Mansion was spectacular enough, but Renz is right, Stilton's manor is incredible.
The timepiece creates all sorts of wild opportunities, but also makes way for some incredible tension. Yes, you can use it to escape or hide from an enemy in one timeline. But if you're in a newer part of the manor you've only just got to, you better be careful to scout the alternate timeline with the viewing fan before flipping the switch, otherwise you could end up in a whole heap of trouble.
And yes, it does allow you to observe an enemy from the safety of the opposing timeline, wait for them to turn their back, then flip into their timeline and do them a mischief from behind. And yes, this does feel fucking awesome.
The original game is one of my favourite games of the last ten years, and this is certainly living up to that legacy, if not surpassing it (ignoring technical issues).
