Is anyone else having a vsync issue? On my 970, I'm getting screen tearing like mad. Other than that it seems like it's running ok.

One of the nice things about the newer nVidia drivers is a Vsync mode called 'Fast'. If you turn it on through the control panel, it essentially eats your GPU for lunch, but it ensures there's essentially no screen tearing while it's enabled. Give it a shot if you need a new space heater around where your cabinet's at.

Not going to mess with that, but I checked and I'm holding a steady 60 FPS so I'd assume vsync is working. No idea why it's tearing like hell, though. It's really obvious on the posts on your right at the beginning of the tutorial.
I guess on the plus side I've got Tyranny to play while Arkane sorts the glitches out.

You get torn frames with adaptive Vsync on, which I assume is what DH2 enables in-game by default. Tearing ideally shouldn't happen in 60+ FPS areas but it's not consistent at times. The tried and tested method is to just turn Vsync off in the game and force it via the control panel. Enabling triple-buffering may smooth out the framey bits some, as well.

I tried enabling it in the gf control panel but not disabling it in-game, I'll have to try that.
Edit: No dice.

A hard Vsync=On (not adaptive or anything else) in the CPL should net you zero tearing regardless of the frame rate, which means something is pretty borked in codeville. Patches are incoming to address graphics issues, so yeah, wait and see is the only option for now.

Yo, so how's the writing and VA? That was my major issue with number 1, it was like CSI Dunwall whenever anyone opened their fucking mouth.

I wonder about Dishonored 2's writing myself. In the trailers it seemed kinda corny.
... But what was wrong with Dishonored 1's writing? Aside from some plot-holes and the obvious twist (I don't really care much about plot twists however) I found the setting and the lore very interesting, and the dialogues/monologues to be nicely written for a video game.

Yeah, different strokes I guess, but I really didn't. Everyone sounded really lifeless to me, just like a bunch of actors who didn't know what they were reading. I wasn't convinced by any of it. And the AI barks were robotic nonsense. I guess because people had made a lot of the thief links I can't help compare it to the VA and dialogue in T1&2, and it is sooooo much worse.
And the outsider SUCKS. Such a wasted opportunity. It sounds like they just got the pizza guy to read out all his lines.
