I never even bothered to look for it. I just killed everyone :P
If you get on top of a building, it's a pretty easy fight.

Yeah I've also noticed that some artifacts will appear/disappear after a reload.
I picked up a really nice artifact by the lightning tunnel underneath the Agropom facility but then I got zapped, and when I reloaded I found that artifact was now gone. And after repeated reloads it never reappeared, it's like they penalize you fro dying the first time by taking away some goodies if you die. Lame :nono:

Lame, and very unrealistic. :erm:

Actually, if you assume (which I am not) that this bug is a feature then it would be pretty cool. I think that there should be a few goodies for players that pick themselves up by the bootstraps and grind there way through a bad situation instead of just reflexively hitting the quick-load whenever something sub-perfect happens. Again assuming that this is a feature, your reaction reaks of new-feature-phobia, in that you automatically dislike game dynamics that you can no longer exploit as you have been used too for so long. But if you step back and take a fresh look at it, It could be a promising feature, assuming it is one.
BTW, please forestall any of your irrelevant objections regarding my classification of your statements and opinions as it is obvious that I am in the right and have superior insight into the machinations of your thoughts than do your limited internal vantages.
Bjossi, Realistic? Surely you jest.

Penalizing a player for making use of saving/loading is NEVER good.
You never know when they might get killed in-game because of something they simply haven't learned about the game yet, or perhaps even due to a sudden drop in fps that renders them defenseless.
Heck, you never even know when their game might crash, or they might even accidentally alt-tab in the middle of a firefight . That happened to me a lot until I realized ctrl+alt+tab was safe (ctrl and alt are my crouch keys). I would release the keys quickly before hitting tab, but my thumb would come off of alt more slowly than my pinky would hit tab, and I'd be sent to the desktop.
Sure, saving/loading can lead to situations that sometimes seem like exploits, but the players that don't want to make use of exploits still won't do it.
You also shouldn't penalize a player for sucking at a game or for trying to get better by playing on a difficulty level that is too hard for him/her.

I've actually noticed the opposite happening more often: reloading after dying has on a couple of occasions changed the circumstances of the situation in my favour. I just assume that it's consistent enough with its inconsistencies that it all balances out in the end.
I also found that once I learned how to handle my gun (so to speak) in a fight, things got a lot easier. Don't engage at first sight, because you're not going to hit a damn thing at long range. Always be looking for a better position. Headshots are vital: two rounds from a silenced pistol can do the same job as half an AK clip if you put the effort into it. And don't spray your bullets like a seizing retard: single shots, or three-round bursts if the gun will do it, will give you far greater accuracy, and you can still empty a clip in a very serious hurry if things go south.

"seizing retard" ROFL, Ah the simple mental imagery.
Phatose on 14/4/2007 at 01:36
Heh.
Well, anyway, if you must be a seizing retard, do it yourself. A gun on burst or autofire gets a big old kickback and accuracy penalty. If you're on single shot mode, you don't suffer it, even if you're mouse clicking out 6000 rpm.

Sub perfect? You mean like death, would that be sub perfect enough for you? After dying what else is there to but reload?

Me feature phobic? Not at all, I have a great love for all things new and shiny as long as they actually enhance my experience and seem reasonable and you don't wind up feeling like you're being screwed all the time. I think coming up with monster challenges is easy, the hard part is making something both challenging and fun.

Me and my "Limited Internal Vantages" will keep that in mind, I imagine your considerably greater "Internal Vantages" will be great for the early detection of colon cancer.

Yeah, getting used to the way guns handle in this game is definitely key, I quickly learned that full auto is just a waste of ammo, except for maybe close quarter combat. I actually think I had better luck hitting things from a distance with the Viper on 3 round burst than I did with one of the early assault rifles you pick up, which struck me as a little weird.

I think by sub-perfect he means a situation that is not in the favor of the player. It is a habit for me to press quick-load whenever something very bad happens, instead of just continuing and hoping things get better.
