Well, I've finished it. Big anticlimax, as always. I hate finishing games I've enjoyed. Will play it again in a year or two. Or better still, play Arx Fatalis 2 if they ever release one.
I looked at the washing up, turned around and, with a somewhat heavy heart, went online to download some new bits for Oblivion. I only played it once (great plots, quests etc but the ****** hand-holding style of gameplay , to make it attractive to a mass market instead of just us hardcore RPGers, drove me nuts.
BUT, I must be having a lucky day, just as I finished, the postman turned up with ..... Thief: Deadly Shadows.
Great, now I really won't have to do the washing up .... YAWN!!!!!!!!
I got it dead cheap on ebay after seeing stuff about it on this site. Hope I'll like it.
Maybe 'see' you in the Thief forums. I will check in here too, cos I want to know when you've finished AF, and what you'll play next etc.. It was really great to have an on-line buddy playing it at the same time. :( and :D

It's been a delightful rapport.
Well as long as you're 45 or younger, you're certainly fine in my book. If not, you're still fine. Lemme know, if you're not too bothered by such an inquiry.
I kinda want to try Oblivion next, but I don't have a good enough CPU to play it at a fast, smooth rate.

Of course I didn't mind your enquiry, or I'd not have answered. Curiosity may have killed the cat, but it's what keeps human beings going! (You haven't let Biohazard's daft post niggle you have you? He/she just doesn't get it. Ignore him/her).
It's a pain looking for the next game isn't it? I've made some really stupid choices and wasted so much money.
Oblivion is a great game, massive and some excellent sidequests - but the dumbing down to appeal to a mass market did spoil it quite a bit for me. To quote someone else "Morrowind is a heck of alot deeper and thought-provoking, but I still love OB" - in my case though, I'd say loved Morrowind, but liked Oblivion very much.
As for CPU speed - if it is lower than the recommended minimum - it's a no go for sure - they really went to town (what a weird expression) on graphics. Maybe you should nag your nearest and dearest for cash this Christmas/Hanukkah or whatever so you can get a new PC or upgrade your current one?
I've started Thief - IT'S VERY HARD! But I think I'm gonna like it.

Well you still didn't answer the question directly...

Which Thief is this? I've never played any of the Thief games.
Are there any recent ones? Meaning within the last two, maybe three years?
Lemme know!

I bought Thief I & II for PC (new) for £2.85 + PP on ebay. But, the one I've been playing is Thief 3 (Deadly Shadows) on the Xbox - again bought it cheap - but don't know how much for a PC one. Anyway, I'm totally hooked, but it's very hard: I'm so used to "dashing" everywhere - my most used spell in Arx must have been SPEED! So it's really hard to creep, hide and wait.
Anyway, on another subject - I've found the new comment, this time from twisty, to be quite upsetting. What is wrong with these people? Do they have one track minds? (I wish I knew what your reply meant - hope it was a verbal poke in the eye with a VERY sharp stick!)
So, I'm not going to log onto this site anymore - I prefer more mature attitudes (especially from so-called moderators).
See ya.:(

How nasty. What kind of a mind do you have?
Two posts with unpleasant innuendos, both from so-called 'moderators'!

Missing the whole crypt is losing a lot of scares.
