I have installed Thief 2 and I can view the mission movies + the obj level + weapon choice screen but when the mission is to start, the game crashes to desktop with the following message:

I downloaded the ddfixG program to make Thief work with my Geforce 7800 GTX but after I dragged the files into my Thief2 directory and activate ddfixGUI I'm gettin the following message:

("can't initialize program")
Thief Gold, Thief 2 and Darkloader have all worked on my PC before. I'm using Windows XP SP3. I've tried searching on the forums for this problem, but couldn't find a relating thread. Thanks for your time!

The first one is in English and I already translated the second one ("can't initialize program" "presss OK to end program)"

what is the exact make/model of your cpu..?

The ddfix GUI error is because you have a 64-bit processor, I believe. Could someone link to the fixed-for-64-bit ddfix GUI?

32bit code runs just fine on 64bit cpu's. I think what Mudi is trying to say is that if you have a x64 version of windows then you`ll need the x64 version of the DDfix here - (

Stop! the only reason you would need to try the x64 version is if your windows is also 64bit which I suspect it isnt. 99% people out there running Xp have the 32bit version.
Can you answer my question regarding your cpu type and model please as this has a bearing on what advice i will give.

So that 6400 CPU it says in (

my screenshot I've posted before doesn't mean it's 64 bit?
I've tried the 64bit GUI but it turns out it was the one I have always used. And it has always worked until now.
I know it's possible to make a file which shows my entire PC hardware. How can I make one again?

OK, that's a 32-bit version of Windows XP, so that isn't the problem...
Bikerdude, did you have another solution for this?
Also, do you have the .NET framework installed? (If so, what version?) Not having it installed shouldn't cause that error, but maybe...
