You see i have a dilemma, i am a Dunmer Monk (lvl 6)and i decided that to get into the rythm of the game i would join the Thieves Guild first (maybe some loot, and not much fighting), but because of all the early "knock-em-out take there stuff and run"-ing in the Thieves Guild my Hand-to-Hand skill is at 57, and my nearest other weapon skill is Marksman at 23! Also my Unarmored skill is 48 while my light armor is 22, Medium is 20, and Heavy is 5 (i think). Also I have used NO magic whatsoever this far into the game so i would like to know what exactly kind of Magicka i will need (highest magic rating is Destruction at 15). AND does security help you in being able to pick locks that are too "complex" for my lockpick and probe (both are master's)?
Thanks for the Time

I forgot the following:
because of my weak weapon skills (short blade 19, long blade 11, blunt weapon 15, and axe 5) my whole fight strategy is surprise enemy by sneaking up and getting 3 hits in with my Steel Crossbow and Silver Bolts, then trading to my fists and duking it out (which is kinda hard against a Guar). So... to solve this problem, what will it take?
Once again thankyou for your time

I'm a level 6 Dunmer assassins and have recently joined the Morag Tong and killed 2 people for them. I've had to rely on the same tactic as you have - run up to them and shoot them with my crossbow and run away until I can jump up on a object (where they can't get me) and shoot them to death...
I'd much rather attack the guys in combat but their weapons and spells are far better than mine :(. What makes it worse is I managed to find a very nice magical health-sucking (long) sword in Balmora and steal an ebony war axe from Vivec but because my skills with these items are rubbish I can't use them.
I have to make do with my glass dagger but to be honest it grates on me that I’m dragging these two very nice but useless weapons around with me. I can't sell them either because no one can offer me a decent price for them.
Don't bother with spells unless you're a mage - in my limited experience spells are a waste of money because you don't have the skill to cast them. What I would advise is purchasing the odd spell which you think would be good to enchant an item with. You like me should stick with scrolls and potions and of course those enchanted items (if you can afford to make them).
I'm trying not to get stuck on the path of developing into an archer rather than an assassin but i've found the beginning of this game to be really hard for my character type. Perhaps I should have gone for that Ork Barbarian character after all - life would be a LOT easier :( .

Yeah, I'm not going to read your posts, but hand to hand is a joke in this game...
Try going and beating up a cow by punching it...

It's not really a joke because i dont have to use hand-to-hand in most cases, i use my crossbow. But i can take out 3 people at a time with my fists and a few restore fatigues. I even took out a Morag Tong operative who was a nightblade & a Greater Bonewalker (that the operative summoned). So actually if you dont want to get a bounty on your head just knocking someone out works pretty good, i have mediocre weapons they just are useless to me

I tried to hand to hand umbra once... after punching him for about 20 min and noticing that he hasnt even collapsed from fatigue yet, I decided... screw this, and I pulled out my dai-katana and killed him in a couple secs.

as a lvl 136 breton pure mage, i can tell u from experience the following: everything sux except long blade or blunt weapon. period. it comes down to choosing between creasceant (sp) or sunder.

I prefer my skull basher over the sunder... the wraithguard is ugly anyways, :p

lol skull basher is ok, still. sunder is so fast, and one handed
