--- Warning --- Spoiler below ---
I have a dilemma:
I have to decide which house to join, here a my pro's:
- Telvanni: You can do a quest, which gives you as reward a daedric cuirias and daedric boots, both echanted with 50 points feather.
- Hlaalu: The have the nicest stronghold, and i really like owning my own house.
- Redoran: are the good-guy fighters. like me.
what to do, what to do ?

Are you going to play the game again, with a different character? If so, join Redoran with this one, and make new characters compatible with the other houses later. You cannot do everything with one character, and some quests are only for male or female chars, and then there's the vampire clans (3 of them)- if you really love the game, you can play it more than once.
If not, then I don't know. I haven't played Telvanni yet, but apparently it has much to recommend it, incl. fun NPCs.
I (

I joined House Redoran with my current character (Redguard custom warrior). This house fit my character as she is an honorable warrior who likes to be direct. I like the Redorans, but, alas, I don't feel like I'd join them again. The roleplaying was quite alright. They are a little stiff-necked, but expect you to solve quests in an honorable fashion. They don't send you off to steal from or kill innocent people or business rivals and they actually will reward you for using restraint.
They don't give very much in the way of rewards - which isn't that big a deal, as you can always find loot elsewhere. Sadly, their stronghold is off in the middle of nowhere in the ugly-looking ashlands area (go to the area marked as Bal Isra on your paper map - north west of Ald-Ruhn). The ashlands with its cliffracers and ashstorms is my least favorite area and you really have to hike to reach your stronghold. After the second time I hiked there, I decided it wasn't worth moving from my Balmora location as even with the Mark spell, the stronghold is too far out of the way and too unappealing. It does look pretty cool, with its Ald Ruhn-style buildings and watch tower, but just not worth the effort of reaching it. If it had been located just down the road from Ald Ruhn, I'd probably be satisfied, as Ald Ruhn has nice transportation options. Unfortunately, that isn't the case.:(
As I also like the idea of owning my own house (and I have a PC) I just found one of the many Balmora house plugins and made myself at home. "A Good Place to Stay" was my personal favorite of the ones I checked out, but there are many floating around, including some Vivec houses and various other locations. Next time around, I think I'll make a more devious character and choose Telavanni or Hlaalu. I rather like the idea of having my own vine tower:sly:, but I will have to release all my slaves, as I'm not in to slavery:nono: (another reason why I initially chose the Redorans).
If you are on an Xbox and really want a nice house of your own, I would advise chosing Hlaalu or Telvanni. I know the Hlaalu stronghold is located on the Odai Plateau. It is a little jaunt from Balmora (still kind of far, but with a river to follow) and has nice surroudings. I don't recall where the Telvanni stronghold is located - probably pretty far out of the way also, since the Telvanni in general are isolated. Perhaps, someone else will give better directions?
If you are more interested in roleplaying, read the books which describe the qualities for each of the three houses (the telvanni book is so funny, it's worth reading just for the laughs!) then make your decision.
If you want a larger set of Daedric armor without cheating or manipulating the game, go for Telvanni. I don't think you can get a Daedric curiass in the game without killing someone intergal to the main quest, so that might be worth it!
Hope that helps.

The Telvanni tower is at Uvrith's Grave, so it again is isolated and in the ashlands. But it's pretty cool nevertheless. You can make it a whole load better (and get a little town and all around it) with the Green Uvrith and Uvrith Unleased plugins.
Telvanni clearly own you :D From the moment I first landed in Sadrith Mora I fell in love with the architecture. But if you're going to be doing it for the rewards, it's not as much fun. Choose which one fits.
You don't have to be evil to be Telvanni, though. There are progressives (like Aryon) to ally with and drag them kicking and screaming forwards. I made it one of my goals to unite Telvanni with the Mages' Guild by leading both. And I never did slaver missions (and freed everyone I could).

If you have Tribunal, there's a Daedric Curiass to be found...plus there are ways to get armour from old Divath Fyr without killing him...
Daedric is overrated, anyway. It's ugly, clunky and heavy :D A REAL Telvanni wouldn't need it ;) They'd just summon bound equivilants or turn invisible and whack their enemies whilst no one is watching :D
