Before you jump to conclusions about how your boss's high end graphic card is making things easier for him, have you tried playing your game on his machine? Or his game on your machine (he could finish off an arena combat with 1/2 dozen arrows, right, so get the savegame and see if you can duplicate it, or better get HIM to duplicate the feat on your machine)?
The leveling system for TES IV is full of loopholes to exploit (good thing it wasn't an MMORPG, but I still think Bethseda should have avoided the issue in the first case by plugging the holes); maybe your boss used that?
What about patches, mods and the like?

we both bought it about 3 days after it had come out, neither of us had mods or any patches. Another thing that i came to realize is that my wood elf's AGility is pretty low compared to even my dunmer, and i think my boss had higher agility.. thats probably it.
