I'm curious to know what the uptake rate has been for the Forum. Did you buy it? Import it, even? Or did the demo make you reconsider?
I must admit I'm waiting for my import copy to arrive at the moment.

The demo put me off importing the full game. However, I may buy the fully-patched game after its European release if I read more positive player feedback. I'll probably wait until it falls in price.

Although I didn't specifcally hate the demo (after reading the previews and screenshots leading up to the release, I had more or less expected everything in the demo, I was only actually disappointed by the poor performance and inexplicably erratic AI) it did put me off importing the full version. I'll buy it when it is released in Europe, though.

I got it, had it preordered before the demo. I'm glad I did because I really enjoyed it! Great game :)

Got the demo, played it and liked some things, disliked others. Overall feeling neutral about the real thing.
Got the real thing, patched it first thing, playing it and loving it. There are some things that irk me, but it does have me hooked.
Question: is there a key you can bind for dropping the currently held item?

Didn't bother downloading the demo.
I knew I'd buy it soon enough.
Beat it about 5 minutes ago (Denton/Helios ending).
Loved it.
-gen! ~ gone to play it again :ebil: :ebil: :ebil: :ebil:

Sadly there is no option: played the demo and it turned me off but my signifigant other bought it for me anyway.
Game is ok.

I was going to preorder the game, but then read all the negative feedback to the demo AND some responses from ION I didn't like at all. Besides, unified ammo really put me off - the only game I remember doing the same was Syndicate Wars, and it was a lousy sequel IMO.
Waited for the reviews to appear, and still browsing the forums here.
Bottom line: I might buy the game once its price drops significantly _and_ my hardware gets the next update. I could buy the XBox version, but apart from the cost, I think there is no excuse to make a game run slow on today's PC systems. Just played Max Payne 2: it had breathtaking graphics, convincing physics and still managed to run smooth 90% of the time at high resolution.
Maybe I won't buy DXIW at all... reading the various posts I find too many things that I don't like.

It's not a bad game. If it didn't have the Deus Ex legacy to live up to, I think it would recive higher praise. Warren Spector created an almost impossible task for himself when he released Deus Ex, any sequel would have a really tough job of living up to it. The fact that it was made for a console too just made it even more difficult. :(

I generally stayed away from all the hype before the demo was released so I could go into it open minded. Loaded the demo......
-Couldnt save settings
-Performance was ridiculously bad
-No cool music like the first game
-No skills? WTH?
-First time I had seen "unified ammo" WTH?
-Absolutley INANE inventory mouse functions.
Then I read from people who bought the game:
-Stupidly small areas between loads
And I told myself, "If they want to make a game that caters to the XBOX crowd, let them sell it to XBOX users". Havent even thought about buying it. I'll wait for Theif 3 to see if Ion has totally lost their marbles or not.
