There was a time a year or so ago when the forum software was changed that it lost count of how many posts people had made.

The Big Postcount Fuckup caused people to lose all posts they'd made except those that had been posted in the year preceding the Big Postcount Fuckup, yeah. So some members who hadn't posted in a while got bumped down to "new member".
