Did Metal Gear 2 Solid Snake 1990 MSX game inspire Thief series - by SolidSnakeRoll

In someway atleast.
Historically Castle Wolfenstein is what innovated lots of great ideas in stealth.
- You could disguise yourself as an enemy, check
- If you fired your gun, then it went full alarm mode, check
- You could hold up a person with a gun (Primitive but it was the first to do it), check.
Now what MG2 Solid Snake did innovate is the fact that if you walked on a louder grating, or knocked on a wall. Guard would go "hmm what was that? And check it out". This is in old Thief games too if you walk on something that makes loud noise.
Now you can dispute me if you know of another stealth game that did this before MG2 Solid Snake 1990 MSX version, but so far i havent seen anything before that game doing it. Interms of introducing caution mode.
But what do you think?
Basically i consider MG2 Solid Snake 1990 MSX version to be Kojimas best work!
