For some odd reason, all the guilds suddenly think that I've stolen from their members, and the Dark Brotherhood believes that I've killed someone. However, I don't think that I've actually done so. Even after finishing the quest to get back in the Fighters Guild, they again tell me that I'm expelled.
I can solve the problem by using console commands for those guilds where I know the FactionID, namely 00022296 for the Mages Guild and 00024164 for the Thieves Guild. However, I also need the code for the Fighters Guild. Can anyone here help me out? Thanks a lot!

Did you install any mods that would have led to this problem cropping up?
Thirith on 17/7/2006 at 21:42
The list of mods that I've installed is too long, but I've done some more reading on this - apparently the mistreatment of one's horse (hey, I have to train hand-to-hand somehow!) can lead to this for some very odd reason. The trick, it seems, is not to rest immediately but to travel on, and then suddenly it's safe again to rest. Odd, huh?

Actaully I did have that happen to me, when I am travelling on my horse and I get off to attack the bandits but they all decide to jump my horse instead, after a the bandits have been beating at it for a while I get a message saying I've been expelled from one of the guilds, I just reload leave my horse further behind when attacking the bandits.

Thirith, you're not alone, I've had this happen to me on numerous occasions (and I don't have any mods installed). Always happens during a battle and I'll get kicked out of 2-3 guilds at the same time despite being in the countryside and doing absolutely nothing wrong. It's just a very annoying bug.

This all paints a very disturbing picture:
The horse is actually a SPY for the guilds, reporting your movements and actions
The truth is out there.

Perhaps, but he isn't paranoid enough, you see, it is the horses which controll the guilds not the otherway around.

Besides, just because he's paranoid that doesn't mean that I'm not out to get him.:ebil:

All I heard was:

he said "beating at it" not "beating it off"
