Is there a connection? I think not. It's very closely related to playing Poker: mostly psychology, a little background knowledge about your opponents and a small part of luck.

And the show will not improve the company or significantly change the sales, but will wake some people up and lead them to believe that Roche is going up. I'm interested to know if it will go up further after the show.
Roche manufactures the anti-flu medication Tamiflu which is expected to help against birdflu (nobody knows yet, but it's one of only two that let us hope), but governements are stockpiling it, private customers are not allowed to get it anymore.

That's interesting, good detective work to look up the stock price.
For the record, (I don't want to sound like a commercial, but if you're going to bring it directly up...) the product that my dad deals in that I cameo'ed in the HIV thread (humates) has studies on its anti-viral effects against a lot of types of influenza, including bird flu it seems (to the extent the adsorption mechanism is the same),* as well as some anecdotal evidence (mostly works prophylactically). But it's not general knowledge so you don't see this kind of effect, nor is the government thinking about stockpiling it. I'm keeping my pills though ... just in case.
I don't want to kill the thread, though, I just thought it worth mentioning. Anyway, what would you do with studies saying your product has prophylactic effects against bird flu and then months later newspaper stories start coming out saying they haven't found any credible vaccine for it? Just ignore it all and hope it's never an issue? Or let some other dealers make the leap? Such a bizarre situation, seriously... Every weirdo that comes out of the woodwork crying *I've been "cured"!! my God, you have to get this out to the people ... they're dying out there... and you're doing NOTHING?!!* It's very unsettling to someone not in that line of work. Maybe they should just keep it to themselves.
* I can't believe I'm citing academic papers in CommChat, but I don't want to be taken for a total idiot that's just making this up, so what the hell. If I'm wrong, blame these guys, not me:
