Yes.
And here are the chronicles of D3 "prepatch" (God lets hope) Act 3 Inferno...
Can't heal, zero health. Awesome, does that mean I'm immortal?

Life. Lose it all, and you're dead.
There is something amazing about that image and, in particular, that help bubble; it encompasses everything that people have been saying that's wrong with gaming.

And ironically, Diablo 3 isn't even on the consoles yet. Though I'd read it as tongue-in-cheek commentary on the state of things at the moment; Blizzard does have a sense of humour at times...
...at least, I thought so until Mists of Pandaria was announced.

Pretty much. The game seems OK at first, but as you get further into it the overall design of the game is painfully apparent: it is designed to force you to the real money AH in order to get the items you need to progress. The first and foremost objective of the game design was to make money via microtransactions.

Basic economy is what forces people to go to the real money auctionhouse, there's no design put in place by blizzard except rarity, no one forces anyone to go there yet people go there.
But yes, further into the game means level 60 and level 60 only, 1-59 is pretty much issue-free with low amount of gold and regular auctionhouse if you so will.

I can't speak for the rest of Europe, but 1.0.3 is certainly not running in the UK.
:edit:
Apparently what they mean by 'is now live in Europe' is 'It'll be up first thing Wednesday morning'.
I'm glad that's clear.
