Quite nice. This german website has all the Diablo 3 Videos released so far at once.

I did not really believe in Gameplay Scenes so soon I must admit.

So does (

Nice, looking forward to this one.
I for one am glad that they don't seem to be screwing with the formula much.
Mindless Diablo style fun is all that I'd want or expect from this title.

Gee, what's with all the hatin' people? Maybe I'm just nostalgic because Diablo II was the first game I really got into, but I think it is an all around excellent game.
I've still yet to play another game which was that addicting - I played in almost continuously for about 5 years.
Diablo III is looking pretty cool as well, though I must admit, the artwork is looking a bit close to the Warcraft series at this point for my tastes. :erg:

I absolutely cant wait to play this game. I fucking loved the first 2 games, and it completely made my day with the announcement yesterday of D3. The barbarian videos look excellent :D.

The game engine looks snazzy.
I wish it wasn't a Diablo game though.

Although I did find it really funny how they said what an important part of environment will be in Diablo 3 and then showed the character opening the chests by clicking, certainly a dramatic development in interactivity.
Out of curiosity, how would you have done it? I have a feeling they were talking about using the environment in fights, not EVERYTHING.

Well they do seem to have stolen the pre-placed physics traps from Dark Messiah.
I wasn't really sure how much of that was actual, and how much was tweaked so they could show off everything they wanted to in one take. Same thing with the blood orbs. He specifically said that they tweaked that chest to hold a lot more loot than usual, and I doubt that was the only tweak they made.
I've never played a Diablo game, but this does look interesting.

I've never played any Diablo games. But I see that a lot of people are quite fond of them. So my question is:
What exactly is so special about the two older Diablo games ? What makes them so good ? The story ? The cutscenes and movies ? Mindless slashing of a zillion mobs stays fun ?
I've played a lot of WoW. So I understand some of the strategies of Blizzard to make games. Make sure they run on old hardware. Make sure even the biggest moron can make progress in the game. Put more emphasis on artwork than technical rendering of graphics. How to make your MMO addictive, and how to slow down progress the further you get. However, Diablo isn't a MMO, so I wonder what other tricks they put in it.

Random Positive Feedback. You click the mouse over and over again, sometimes all that happens is creature dies, sometimes something nifty drops when creature dies. The endless pursuit of that something nifty is what makes the game addictive.

In Diablo II enemies get tougher if you have more players in your party and also the random loot gets much better. Then there's hardcore level where your character can only die once :ebil:. Random items are naturally best on hc.

Diablo interested me because I liked the spin on the old Roguelike model, and because I liked the creepy setting.
Diablo II would've been so much better if they hadn't fucked it up with this silly MMO-like shit. If they hadn't messed with the gameplay I would've enjoyed it a lot more. Diablo II was basically WoW beta.
