You're planning to support a developer who bullies a good proportion of their consumer base with Always On DRM for the SP component of a premium game? Shame on you.

I admit that I have a pre-order in for the game (as I found a rid-ih-hiculously low price that the store has to honour on release), but I lose interest in it with each news item I read. :/
@Koki: if you know of any tips that might improve the situation that would be very much appreciated.

Haha, (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R7wOMLR1zxk) it was shameful!
Even though it's retarded, I'm still going to buy it even if Internet mens say no because it's Diablo. Don't really care that it looks like a 2006 game because the last installment looks like something developed in 1999 (which it was).
But don't get me wrong, I don't see the justification for SP always-on DRM and I'm not happy about it.

Neither do I, was just making an observation.

...and the game came out in 2000. There would've been hardly many, if any leaps made in sprite rendering been 1999 and 2000.

I don't get this, the team which developed the first two games would've been long by the time the current iteration of D3 began development in 2006/2007. If anything Torchlight 2 will be more of a spiritual successor to D1 & 2 than D3.

Yeah, but it's Diablo. There's a chance the magic could still be there! A tiny chance, given the massive clusterfuck current-day Blizzard turned WoW into, but I need my.... precious. Yes, my preciouss
Also, my point about Diablo 2 being a 1999 game is that Diablo 3 looks at least 7 years on from that. I'll take what I can get.

I am not sure if I will get d3 right away. I'm more of a solo/coop guy and never cared for PvP so it will not matter if I buy it later. I think I will go for Torchlight2 first and wait what happens. Although I guess the "always-online" won't go away. They want to get it out and fill up their gold silos.

Look, any magic Diablo had was killed by Diablo 2 being a horrible unbalanced mess and then Blizzard spent the next decade raping the corpse. There will be no magic left in Diablo 3, and by supporting Blizzard you support their further misadventures.

Diablo 1 was, and is, incredible. 2 was strange and not really my cup of tea. Mostly balancing, constant nerfing, and strange rules kept me from loving it. I wish we could get the original D1 team to make a direct sequel to that game and forget about 2 (kinda like the Deus Ex fanboys clamoring to forget Invis. War).
