I have seen and collected some improved texture packs for DE but wondered here ..are they worth the putting in? and do they work? does anyone here use them?
thanks for any input...much appreciated in advance.

They're free. How the hell can they not be "worth" trying?

Sorry ..i was not clear...what i meant was ...do they actually work and improve things? it is very nice to have free ad ons and i always appreciate mods of any kind. I was just asking of anyone had tried them and if they really do improve things.....that sort of thing. thanks.

ZylonBane in stick-in-anus pedantic interpretation of the word "worth" shock horror!

Oh look, one of my ankle-biters deigned to show up. Keep on raging, you glorious little retard.

Y'know, you really should've just
began your contribution with this. And ended it there. :p Instead, you just
had to try to needle the OP with what was, I have to say, an incredibly stupid question.

Here's a youtube vid showing off a high res pack. I'm not sure if thats the one you were looking for, but you can definitely decided if its for you or not without having to do an install.

I just realized recently, people attack ZB for actual faux pas on his part, but all his attacks are nothing more than gloried ad hominem. Ho hum...

OP: Note that in the video bluegrime posted, they're using the (
http://enbdev.com/index_en.html) enbseries renderers/wrappers, that add bloom and (slightly) ugly bumpmapping to the maps, and stuff. Sometimes it looks LOVELY, sometimes..not so good. It affects the actual rendering though, so will work with new texture packs or not...though the bumpmapping is better with bigger world textures (I find).
It's also a bit of a resource hog, if you're on a less-than-top-of-the-line machine.
