So stat based combat is gone as is hiding in shadows, and customization is limited mostly to weapons. I hope this turns out better or at least truer to the original than the article seems to suggest. At least punching through walls and grappling/bungee jumping about seems promising.
FFS, I love my 360..but I sure could do without the dumbing-down effects consoles have had on some of the great PC licenses we all know and love.
Edit: I just noticed that this was allready being discussed in the DX3 production thread. Mods -please feel free to delete this post as I don't seem to have the option for some reason.

Bah, you're way over-reacting to misinformation.
I looked closely at the scans and extracted this bit which should be more hopeful:
According to the article they're "placing a renewed emphasis on experience points and the leveling up of your character." In addition, the developers are doing their best for those who want to play it as a "more thoughtful stealth, hacking and social interaction RPG."
Lead Game Designer Jean-Francois Dugas:
"We wanted to respect the core values of Deus Ex, to mix genres and ensure that choice and consequence is at the core of the experience."
Deus of War?! C'mon!
There is a ton of misinformation being spread about this game right now. I think Eidos has a done a really sloppy job of releasing the first juicy bits about this game.
They should have better planned an Internet PR campaign to coincide with the release of the PC Zone article.

I certainly hope you are right. It may just be that after Invisible War and Deadly Shadows this sort of "misinformation" is easy to believe.

Shacknews posted something to this effect and I'm glad there is an appropriate amount of community backlash. Though you know, I can live with the health recharging thing and the new stealth if they manage to give us a rich cyberpunk experience. (technological tension, cohesive game world and characters ect.)
Though for some reason I think it has to to with the Montreal based studios trying to annoy us anglophones by pulling our collective legs.
