Guys, when was it that there was rumor that a SS3 was coming? I can recall no details to be honest but i think it had something to do with Irrational games and a secret project that would be revealed as a new System Shock game and must have been less than a year. Does anyone remember?

They were hiring for various specialists that we thought might point to an SS3, but it turned out to be Tribes 3 instead.

I actually expected it to be a System Shock tribute, rather then them actually going to the bother of resurrecting a liscence that's arguably of little value. Some ultra cool scary setting, very similar themes, similar gameplay, take the chance to introduce a few new twists to the "series" that most people will like (while all the old-timers hate it! :p).
That sort of thing ...
Tribes 3 was a complete surprsie, in any case!

What about Terra Nova, I have a manky second-hand copy that I've never got round to getting working (it always crashes) is it worth the effort?

Terra Nova is probably LG's greatest tragedy. I mean, Underworld, SS, Thief - Perhaps they didn't sell as well as their competitors, but they're all "cult classics" and attain levels of critical acclaim that many of the games that sold millions can only dream about. But Terra Nova languishes in the abyss of obscurity. I've never seen it referred to in a magazine or online article, or seen a review, or any such thing. Which is a great pity, because it's a damn fine game (From what I've played of it, anyway) and does the whole squad-based-combat thing considerably better than many contemporary titles.

Thief, ofcourse, I like System Shock to some extent, but not quite as much as Thief I'm afraid.
I REALLY didn't like Deus Ex.

Why should you be? Afterall it has bad graphics and bad sound effects... the two moust sought out elements in any game... Only the minority can love one such as Deus Ex and I am proud to call myself a fan.
