I have the GOTY edition and I was wondering if the cheats that's out there for the original game are use the same way as the GOTY edition?

I'd imagine so. I've got the GOTY version as well, and I also played the demo. Cheats worked the same way for both. Since the original game version will have obviously come between the two, it's only logical to assume cheats function in the same way there also.
