I've had the game for a while and never bothered to play it. Now I ask,Is it worth playing? I'm not asking for a "YES!!! Its the best game ever!!!! wooooo!" give a reason please. Is it like Red Faction? That's how i imagine how the game works. Course I'm so used to UT2k4.

I've never played Red Faction. But Deus Ex is the greatest piece of entertainment ever created in recorded history.
Do you RPGs? Do you like FPSs or sneaker games? Do you like emergent gameplay? Do you like a well told story that reflects the real world and makes you think? Are you alive? A yes to any of those questions means you should play Deus Ex.

I don't know how much you know about it, but it's really an RPG and adventure game first and an action shooter second. If you play it purely for firefights, you'll probably be disappointed.

Heheh, actually, it's nothing like Red Faction. I remembered RF mainly for its high weapon accuracy... in DX, at the beginning, you will spend time aiming. It's nothing like UT, either.
Well if you have it anyway, give it a shot. Played SS2, Thief? If you liked'em, you'll probably like DX. RPG system, great story, many options, your actions affecting the game world...

Late reply....but just had to say its a FAB game, absolutely brilliant, definitely nothing like Red Faction! Think System Shock and a more futuristic thief, and you're close. Many ways to play it through too - can use stealth, or just kill everyone (also plenty of weapons to choose from)! You can make choices that change the storyline too. I've played it through 15 times and still going!

Deus Ex is one of the most intelligent games when it comes to story, dialogue, atmosphere etc etc.. I think you should try it. It is absolutely the best game ever made. You didn't wan't that kind of answer but that's just how I feel.

It only costs 5 euro, there's your reason. It is widely regarded as one of the best games ever made, see for yourselve if the fans are right.

You can't destroy the environment in Deus Ex either! I would say Deus Ex is nothing like RF, but that it is 100 times the game RF is.
