Can I make Deus Ex use a gamepad? I can't set the buttons in the settings of the game. Is there some way to force it to map the keys for use in the game? Thanks.

I'll add to this heresy, but only with a comment.
"What the hell are you thinking, wanting to play Deus Ex with a gamepad instead of a keyboard and mouse?"
Okay, now that
that's said... why not just open your user.ini file and configure your keys in there? Here's a bit of information on keybindings, too.

Give a man a keybinding, and you 1337 him for a day. Teach a man to keybind, and you 1337 him for a lifetime.

Buy the PS2 version? :p :cheeky: It's a very poor conversion, but on PC I don't see how you are going to survive with a gamepad, unless you play on Easy. At least the PS2 version as an "autoaim". Surprise, surprise.

The reason that I want to try to use a gamepad is because I am using a laptop and sometimes play in a car. There isn't much room for a mouse, and the keyboard is compact. The gamepad I have is usb, and one of those generic (not namebrand) jobs. I'll read the link that mook gave and see if that helps. Thanks.

Ah, nothing quite like playing a dark, epic cyberpunk-noir classic which balances stealth, gunplay, and philosophical dilemmas in elegant perfection-- on a washed-out laptop screen with a gamepad surrounded by traffic.

got Joy2key......not gonna use it for DX though, gonna make it work with T3.
How the Hell do I make it work? it gives me archaic directions to compile it in, but I have no idea where to compile it from.
