Holy cow those Tomb Raider sales spell a sad story for Eidos ...
And DX / DX IW sold about the same. I wonder what platform those sales are on - and if it's all platforms, then I wonder if the DX figures include DX conspiracy or not.

More people bought Kane and Lynch in just the last 18 months than BOTH DX games in 9 years? WTF?

I think you want to say "either DX game". But, regardless, it's not really surprising. The bulk of those Deus Ex sales are likely in the 2000-2002 timeframe, and at that point 1 million units was enough of a big deal. That article's author is either not well aware of what commercial success was at that time for games, or he's simply being a bit of a tool when he's looking down on the game's market performance. As for Invisible War not mopping the floor with its competition, well... hm.
Still, I think Papy's find here is pretty solid. Regarding the commercial side of Deus Ex, we can say we know:
- It cost ~ $5.5 mil. (Warren Spector, UoT Masterclass 1, 01:36 hr.);
- It "sold really, really well" (same, 00:10);
- "Really, really well" means ~1.1 million units around the 2000/1 level (Squeenix/Eidos charts);
P.S. Am I the only one who gets a strange vibe of dick measuring on Square's side from that first slide of theirs?

I got the sense that the first slide was meant to convey "first we pwnd them and now we own them."
Too bad no Thief on that list. Would have liked to see how their sales stacked up.

Well, I guess that settles the 'argument' with Jashin once and for all. DX did in fact sell slightly more than 100k 200k copies.

I can't believe garbage like Kane&Lynch outsell Deus Ex games.:(

Then how about garbage like the Halo or the GoW games? "Shiny & cool" games with enough hype always sell well...
