I feel about those pretty much as I feel about the original DX music.
Meaning, 90% of it is crap, but that which isn't, really shines (UNATCO EJ's Midnight Mix specifically)

Not all video game music can be techno, dude.
/fires up DX soundtrack in Foobar2K to listen to all the hidden subtracks

Barking up the wrong tree here completely, ZB.

Hey, I'm just trying to come up with a plausible explanation for your terrible taste in music.
How about if you list the DX tracks which you consider to be the absolute worst ones in the game.
van HellSing on 25/9/2008 at 21:01
The main titles. Urgh. :eww:
Battery Park. Boom-bada-psht-fart.
The Hong-Kong club tracks. (That's pretty much about it when it comes to the techno theory, isn't it? :P)
The Area51 bunker track. That would have been fine, if it was in a Contra game, or something.
Those are the ones that come to my mind immediately.
As for tracks I liked: UNATCO and NYC Streets are two of my favourites, NYC bar is pretty funky, Hong-Kong is fun but not when you listen to it 50 times over, Hong-Kong Canal has a nice ambient track, reminds me of GitS a bit which is perfect given the setting.

I like a lot of the Deus Ex soundtrack. It was doomed to happen since I love the Unreal and Unreal Tournament OSTs to death.

Seconded. The old UT title theme and the DX Intro are some of my favourite game tracks.

Surely, Brandon/Van Den Bos knew their job. I'm thinking about uploading my personal rip of nearly complete DX soundtrack for you who want it. I so prefer the raw electronic sound over those boring "orchestral" versions.
