well, i still think a prequel to DX would be nice. maybe Paul's trip to hong kong. i personally don't want JC to be seen fighting or doing missions in a movie. he is supposed to be like us. so if the director makes him a total badass with guns than that would allienate the stealth hackers.
but Paul has a set personality. he does not like to kill, but will do it if need be. thus they can make Paul into a badass as long as they have him use gas grenades every once in awhile.

Knowing Hollywood the Deus Ex movie will be full of cliche action and one-liners. There was more to Deus Ex than action. Like a story.

If you whine and moan and groan that JC isn't like you in the game then perhaps you have a problem with distiguishing between reality and fiction.

Yikes...so when this movie is out and people ask why don't you go see it what will you say? "JC isn't the way I play him." Nerd...

Denton better not be like now I play Deus Ex. I gun down everyone who is not invincible.

Every game to movie thing, has Sucked. The reason the target audience (gamers) isn't expecting much. BUT movie companies KNOW gamers will go see the movie that is even Remotely bsed on the game, even if its JUST the title, (Final Fantasy). Therefore there is NO incentive to base it on the game.
Yeah, that's a very good note to be aware of. However I believe that simply by the fact that there is going to be a production of the Deus Ex game, a certian level of respect will be payed towards the intellectual (and hopefully the story) foundations of the game. However the latter I doubt, simply for the reason that this is Hollywood. Now in my pitiful opinion, had they left Resident Evil alone and simply made a movie of the actual game, then it might have been met with better success with all. Thanks to Warren Spector's skill, Deus Ex has a solid enough foundation and intelligence that a simple conversion to film with as little change as possible would most likely be considered a legitimate film of a quality caliber.
Now as far as your first point goes regarding the audience....Computer games and their audiences are growing up as shown by the titles such as Max Payne and this. Especially considering once again the intellectual infusion of political ideology with the game, as long as the script writer has a solid understanding of the messages throughout Deus Ex, then this just won't be a crap movie.
(Although I do admit that the number one thing I'd be looking for is a nano-sword fight:thumb: )

Deus Ex is too long for them not to change the story. It would be like a 6 hour movie

but if you cut the story of deus ex, when you out something out of the story, there would be a gab in the film!
PS.: sorry, I have learned english for 5 years, it isn't very good. :)
