Besides, that "little girl" jumps up and down with that buncing chair and pretend she's a superhuman, that's just fucking dumb.

Final Fantasy kicked ass but had nothing to do with the games.
Tomb Raider was an ok popcorn movie but was also not true to the game.
Resident Evil was terrable.
Mortal Kombat is also terrable and was directed by the same director. Never see a movie made by Paul Anderson.
Lets not talk about Streetfighter.
These movies based off of video games have not been very good. According to my sources
(

there are alot of movies coming out in the future that was based off video games. Lets hope one of them breaks the tradition of
not being true to the game. Maybe it can be Deus Ex.

I want to see how they take some of DX's graphics and transfer them to a movie. I want to see what Gunther Hermann looks like (He should definitely be played by Arnold Schwarzenegger) The bombed out statue of liberty, and mostly JC Denton:cool:

please - realise that the FinalFantasy games themselves are in NO relation to each other - How does a movie can relate then?

I think it stands a good chance of being decent if they remember that most of the game and movie fans are older teens and adults rather than "younger" teens. Depends on the IQ levels of the marketers and studio CEOs.;)

somehow i hope they use the same voice actors, but i doubt it'll be possible.

I liked most of the voice acting in DX (well, the main characters... "I can tell them you're a spy, and they will kill you!" :eww:) except for some of Walton Simons' lines. They just sounded like they were altered too much to be a human (or a nanotechnologically improved one, for that matter ;)) However, I was pleasantly suprised when Simons said "Just fire the arrogant son of a b*tch." :thumb:
Enough rambling. I wish that Deus Ex will be a well made movie, although that's not what I expect from Hollywood based on their past history with game-to-movie ventures. That way, if it's good, I will be suprised and that much more pleased with it, and if it's bad, I won't have gotten my hopes up for nothing.
Good or bad, I hope that it won't be confusing to people who have never played the game. Once, after I had finished the game, I tried to explain the plot to a friend, and it took me 15 minutes to explain the chain of events that led to the bombing of the Statue of Liberty :grr:
So, there's my spiel. Have a nice day.

As long as Paul Anderson doesnt get his hands on Deus Ex we have some hope of it being a good movie.

Henry Czerny - played Kiteridge in Mission Impossible, I remember he sounded and looked very Walton Simonsish.

I think I'll take this opportunity to stuff in a couple of my ideas here.
I think Edward Norton should play Paul and Anthony Rapp (Road Trip) should play Alex Jackobson. Anthony Rapp was the nerdy teacher's assistant in Road Trip who kept trying to mess up the main character.
And Paul Anderson is a good director. He just needs to stick to his own ideas and not meddle with perfectly good games. Event Horizon was an awesome movie.
