I'm skeptical. But that's just a very deusexy attitude.

Wow! I am exited!
Let's just hope that the movie is made by some people that respect Deus Ex and don't just turn it into some mindless action-movie.

Personally, I am not keen on the idea of Deus Ex being made into a movie. They will have to condense the games' plot and it is likely to lose the whole atmosphere that Deus Ex acheives so well.

If they take their time and dont smoke too much weed while hiring actors and setting up the storyline, it should be a good flick. The game's storyline is already a killer one, so they have something to work with. If they're smart, they won't start from scratch.:thumb:

The idea of making anything into anything is never something to be keen on.
IMO they should have just made the movie, without telling that it related to DX, and if it would have been good, no problem. Now it's this whol anticipation and will-they-fulfill-my-expectations-thingie.

I don't think the plot would be very good for a game, not in it's current form, at least.
The first part of the game, with JC discovering about NSF and his brother would be a good starting point. But all that crap about Icarus & Daedalus & Helios would just be too confusing. Up to about the point where JC sends the message to Silhouette. Then maybe the rest of the movie could be JC trying to kill Bob Page, or prove him wrong, or something.

I have not seen any recommendations around here for director So I will humbly give my opinion on someone who might bring if anything the style of Deus Ex to the Screen-
James Wong.
i am not a fan of his so do not (k)nitpick

Anyone who finds it all too confusing doesn't have the intelligence to appreciate Deus Ex. Dumbing it down to an average action film is a perverse use of the Deus Ex trademark. An adaptation of Deus Ex which only follows the first 30% of the game, then proceeds to go straight to the ending would be totally pathetic. I am astounded that anyone would suggest this.
