question: I heard a rumor about a year ago that there was a Deus Ex movie in the making, to come out in 2006- lately i have had the mind-wrenchingly soul shattering (umm..."ly") painful thought that perhaps this was just a joke that i somehow still remember, but my deus ex-possesed brain refuses to let down it's self delusion- :nono:
is there really a Deus Ex movie? will it really really come out next year? let me down easy, people, if you must...

I can see them making a game of the film- a crappy dumbed-down game which is all flashy graphics-if they can be bothered to put even that much effort in- & no substance and bears very little/no resemblance to the original game. And the film would probably be crap as well.

there is always the prob of them ruining the incredible amazing awesome-age-ness of Deus Ex by people writing the movie script who actually believe the above is a word. Deus Ex is one of the most singulary amazing accomplishments of the human imagination, i believe- it goes far beyond any game plot out there, and, in my mind, even further than most straight out movies. Deus Ex is a "Deus Ex Machina"- a cinematic, literary, and artistic "god from the machines"

That IMDB page actually used to state that it was cancelled, as I recall ... I think all the rumours have forced a change to 'Unknown' status. I wouldn't hold your breath, mind.

Apparently, according to some UK site (yea.. don't know which, I just saw this as a comment under IMDB), Defoe is playing some evil guy in Deus Ex (so, probably Page). That'ld kick ass.
