Are we NOT supposed to play games or something? You do realize that it's pretty fucked up to come into a games forum and deride people for playing games, as if we've made some direct choice between a) playing games, and b) staying well informed of world news.
Aside from that, every single post in this thread reeks of the sentiment that there's some media conspiracy that's hiding "the truth" from all of us because Fox News is our primary source of information (btw, we still don't know that Fox News isn't YOUR primary source of information).
Meanwhile, you fail at internets because you don't understand how an online board discussion has worked since 19fucking86, and your arrogance makes me think that the main reason you posted in the first place wasn't to inform anyone of anything, but rather to tout your information-savvy intelligence and insult the rest of us by calling us gamers. Anyway, yeah-this is pretty scary stuff and I'd like to think that the National Guard being filled with people roughly my age (late 20's early 30's) won't bow and scrape before an administration like folks would have 50 years ago if it comes to that. Lots of WTF going on here, but after the Patriot Act, nothing surprises me anymore.

By now, I'm just curious where YOU learned about this, or if someone on your junior high football team simply mentioned it in the showers yesterday. Jashin, I understand the fear that spoonfeeding may force people to accept anything the media says as the truth. And you ask to search for information, as if we can only trust ourselves instead of anyone who brings the news. The problem is that to find it ourselves get us back to the problem of finding information providers, and then the whole "spoonfeeding" problem again.
This entire concept is based on the idea that people are passive when receiving information. They´re not. We receive it and then we check it with all our life knowledge/critical sense/judgement and then take a position about it (support/oppose/doesn´t care/etc).
We ask for the source not because we want to be spoonfed, but because we are interested on where the argumentations that USA constitution and freedom are starting to collapse came from. And them CHECK THE ARGUMENTATION with our critical knowledge, DEBATE IT and finally reach conclusions (or at least achieve a deeper understandment of the matter).
It´s not lazy, it´s the need to check how you are basing your entire topic.
