Just got Deus Ex and tried to go to the site, needless to say I was too late as it's now the official site of Invisible War. However I got the soundtrack music from IW which I enjoy very much so I thought I'd look for the music from the first game. While searching on my favorite P2P program all I got were music files from Deus Ex Machina. I did a search and found a few sites with having to do with it but it all just seemed like mod sites. So what is it really? I was assuming it's either a mod for DX or IW in spanish or something like that. Can someone shed some light?

"Deus Ex Machina" is a classical phrase from which Deus Ex (the game) gets it's name. The phrase itself has a wider significance and is used in many things completely unrelated to the game. (
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deus_ex_machina) Here is a rather hefty definition, if you're interested.
Anyway... if you're getting music from "Deus Ex Machina" in a file-sharing search, it probably doesn't have anything to do with DX. It's probably a band or something called "Deus Ex Machina" I don't know for sure, and I've certainly never heard of them, but that seems a plausible name for a band and I never claimed to know shit about music.
As regards DX music, though, you might want to check the major DX fansites. TTLG's own (
http://deusex-machina.com) DeusEx-Machina.com has a (
http://www.deusex-machina.com/sound.asp) Music section, I believe. Also maybe check (
http://www.planetdeusex.com) PDX and (
http://www.deusexinfo.com) DXInfo.
Oh yeah, the flash site for the original game is still (
http://www.deusex.com/TheConspiracy/) here. There is a section with some music downloads, but I don't know whether the links will work anymore.
If you are looking for DX music, I recommend the title theme, especially the (
http://www.deusex-machina.com/dxps2/Music.asp) PS2 Orchestral Version.
Hope that helps.

I have just about every song from the original Deus Ex. I can e-mail them to you if you'd like. I have three different versions of the Deus Ex title theme (PC, PS2, and some remix...)...
I also have:
Chateau
Vandenberg AFB
Hong Kong
'The Illuminati'
NYC Bar
NYC Streets
End Credits Theme
PC Version of UNATCO theme(personally, I prefer the PS2 version)
LaGuardia Airfield
Go ahead and drop me a line if I have something those sites don't.

There was, IIRC, a game for 8-bit computers called 'Deus Ex Machina' - I say game, actually it was more like an experimental mood/sonic sim, with a cassette soundtrack to be synchronised with the images on screen - you may be getting references to this as well.
