http://i.imgur.com/OGvCn8C.pngWelcome Members Of The Collective to my Let's Play of the original Deus Ex. That's right, one of the supposed best games of all time. Deus Ex is a Cyberpunk Action RPG developed by
Ion Storm Austin (For the record, it was
Ion Storm Dallas that made Daikatana, so don't worry.)
The Story Thus FarThe year is 2052 and the world is a dangerous and chaotic place. Terrorists operate openly - killing thousands; drugs, disease and pollution kill even more. The world's economies are close to collapse and the gap between the insanely wealthy and the desperately poor grows ever wider. Worst of all, an ages old conspiracy bent on world domination has decided that the time is right to emerge from the shadows and take control.
JC Denton is a newly augmented cybernetic super soldier working for an anti-terrorist group called UNATCO. But one day when terrorists invade Liberty Island and subsequently UNATCO HQ, JC is sent in by the higher ups as a test, to see how he does in the thick of combat. He manages to peacefully capture the terrorist leader, and we locate the missing shipment of Ambrosia.
After that, we are assigned to go to Hell's Kitchen and diffuse a hostage situation. And after completing that flawlessly, we are sent into a NSF warehouse to shut down an EMP field that they have set up there.*
*This will be updated as the game goes along.Part 1: Rats From The MachineIn this first episode, Syy and JC are dumped into the newly captured Liberty Island, and are tasked to retake it from the NSF terrorists. But Syy doesn't want blood on his hands, and decides to do a stealthy no-kill run of this game.

Holy fucking shit that is some terrible art. You don't actually talk during this video, do you? I'm not clicking it because the art offends me (you couldn't just use the official boxart?) and I hate it when assholes talk over the game.

it's intentional, I believe. and the guy is actually pretty ok as commentator. his SS2 LP was all right as well.

1: Well thanks.
2: Yes I do.
3: You have that right, I suppose.
4: No because using the box art would mean stretching a 405 × 500 picture into a 1200x720 picture, and it would look awful and pixilated. Also, I happen to think that drawing my own thumbnail gives a more personal touch to a series. It's easy to change a picture's resolution. It's hard to draw something on paper, scan it in, and color it.
5: Well, I'm not an asshole. An asshole is someone who, to give a completely random example, decides not to watch a video because he thinks the thumbnail art is bad, and then yells at the creator for it.

Well it's not intentionally bad. xD That's just my drawing style. This thumbnail however was supposed to be a bit more boxxy to represent the LQ character models in Deus Ex. And thank you.

Part 2: Smash The State
After that rather embarrassing ending to the first episode, Syy is back (with stability mods) and continues his non-lethal approach to taking out enemies. And we finally make it up to the top of the statue to interrogate the NSF commander.

I also see that updated models have been added. did you also add Biomod or the beta of Deus Ex patch 2.0?

Oh, I didn't see the first line, the quote shoved it out of my vision. Anyway, no not yet. I sent you a PM on YouTube about that actually.

yeeah, seems like youtube is doing a great job keeping the inbox and messages completely hidden.
if you see the version in the main menu, the mod should be active - remember, the changes are quite subtle, so you might not be able to see them right away. will install DE and and have a look, I guess.
//yeah, as long as you place the two files from the "system" folder into your deus ex/system folder, and the one file from the "textures" folder into your deus ex/textures folder, the mod should be installed, active and ready to go (played a couple of minutes to make sure and it works, the randomized loot found on enemies and the ability to pickpocket keys is a dead giveaway). you will have to start a new game, but that shouldn't be a big deal, as you have completed just one half of the first level - 15 minutes of play if you are not recording, and know where to go.
