I'm just starting Deus Ex 2: IW.
I am enjoying it, though I agree with many that some of the 'streamlining' decisions were questionable.
My biggest play issue right now seems to be some inventory bugs. I have patched to 1.2.
Even with an empty slot - I can't always pick up new items. It says 'Inventory Full'. Also, multitools don't always pick up - even though I already have 4 in my inventory/toolbelt - I get the 'Inventory Full' message.
I did a web search and didn't find this mentioned - has anyone else seen this and/or have a solution?

Ok, I found threads relating to the multitool problem - apparently a bug introduced with the 1.2 patch. Still no luck with the weapons problem.

Thanks,

It's a feature, heh heh.
This is straight from Eidos: "Also, there is a known issue with multitools after installing the v1.2 patch. Not all multitools stack properly. It's possible to end up with a couple of separate stacks of multitools. This is only a problem if one of the stacks only has one multitool and the user tries to pick a 2 multitool lock. The problem can be remedied by dropping the single multitool and picking the lock. The dropped multitool can then be picked up again."
So there is a workaround, but it is still annoying.
Edit; Oops, didn't read your post carefully regarding the weapons problem. Can't help you there.

Another fun bit about hte multitools is that sometimes when you try to pick up the type of multitool you don't have in your inventory, another multitool will spawn at some location in teh level. Seems to work best in the Order Church. You can get massive stacks of multitools.

Thanks, I'll have to check that out, I was in the church just last night!

No, guys, the multitool problem can't be solved... for me.
After upgrading the game (1.0, then 1.1) to 1.2, I got the bug. About a half of multitooll take it's own place in inventory. So I have to leave TWO cells for collecting multitools. And I can do nothing to prevent it. But yes, it's possible to come back and find the left tools thousand times, but that annoys.
I thought I won't get the bug if I start the game from scratch. I reinstalled DX:IW on new system, then patched it. The bug appeared at first levels. Damn!
I can't play, I can't play, I can't play it!

I never found it to be that much of a problem..the two 'pools' of multitools are at massive disequilibrium (like, 15:1 ratio of good:buggy), and there are STACKS of multitools, so you can just collect the good ones, and ignore the duff ones.
Alternatively, what I did everytime I found a buggy multitool is drop all my exisiting multitools, pick up the dodgy one, wander off and use it on something I might not normally bother with, then wander back and pick up the original tools. You might find this tedious, possibly (I have a high boredom threshold), but hey. :D

No, about a half (+/-) are "good", about a half are "bad". There aren't good or bad ones. I have 3 tools to hack someting. Then I need to go back (through the cameras and security bots hell) to get three other tools, because there is something near the previous something.
I don't really think there're a lot of multitools, so only a half of them would be enogh. I always play at hardest levels, but I don't like it that way.
