About the chopper, I went back prematurely, and was approached by both Gunther and Navarre, but neither spoke to me. When I left the subway station, nobody fired, and the chopper flew by maybe once, but that was that.
Gunther is invincible, and even if you cheat to survive, the area is sealed off in the map, and the helicopter won't extract you (is it there at all?)

Using jump or strength augs, it is possible to get out of that area. And the helicopter is parked nearby, but won't pick you up.
TheNightTerror, the only way you could have done that is if you used a code that you're not supposed to know yet. Cheater!

Does anybody know how much "real" time passes in the game? I've got an idea it's only about a day, which is incredible really.
well the whole game is just one night so not very fast. if you remember it is said in the ending that the long night has ended.

Wrong. What Everett said about the long night referred to how bad it was for humankind to be ruled by unenlightened rulers (yeah, right).
Now, as there is quite a lot of information in the game to make such assumptions, I'll try to calculate the duration of missions. Please note the information in e-mail messages might invalidate at least some of these points, which are based primarily on common sense (and partially on in-game dialogues, but they are sometimes contradictive - see below for examples); I'll try to check it later.
<ol>
<li>Everything from Liberty Island to breaking out of the HQ takes place during one night: up to and including LaGuardia the action is dictated by the pursuit after the missing Ambrosia shipment (besides, private Lloyd mentions something about being transferred after just one day just before the transmitter mission), getting from the Liberty Island back to Hell's Kitchen is a matter of minutes and everything from the moment the signal's sent is dictated by the killswitch. The one thing which doesn't quite fit here is the haste Simons arrives with to interrogate the prisoners, but if you assume he set out for Liberty Island with different things in mind, the moment he got notified about the NSF attack or perhaps even earlier, this becomes easier to think about.
<li>All Hong Kong missions appear to take place during the next night (taking the time zone difference into account) - one of JC's conversations with Tong reveals that only about 12 hours passed between this conversation and the activation of the killswitch.
<li>The next visit to New York would be another night - getting from Asia to America must take time, even if Jock's chopper is very fast for such a machine.
<li>Paris & related, up to and including Everett's place - another night, again taking into account the time of overseas flights with a helicopter.
<li>Finally, everything from Vandenberg to Area 51 is another and the final night, with the plot suggesting everyone is in a lot of haste. However, it is perhaps a possibility that there is a day-long break between Vandenberg and the gas station.
</ol>
Summing it up, 5 or 6 days.
Gotta do something else now, I'll try to add more later but feel free to argue or comment without waiting for that to happen.

Well, that's enough General Protection Fault errors for one day, :grr: methinks I should get some sleep now. I have a few questions, though, might as well ask before I go into a mini coma. :)
Firstly, about UNATCO,
the point where you have to do Paul's bidding is when you send the evacuation notice, right? Is there any way to rejoin UNATCO after this, or MJ12, or anything like that? I want to help out the evil crowd for a little while longer, if I can. :ebil:Secondly, about the ambush that takes place
after the evacuation notice is sent. Is it possible to survive the Gunther attack, and escape via the helicopter? I've reasonably well armed now, I can take out Anna Navarre with no problems, but Gunther seems to be invincible, or dangerously close to it. :erm: UNATCO:
After that level you are enemy with unatco until the end of the game. Irreversably. One of the few things that could have been done better in DX.
Gunther:
Gunther is invincible in NY, you can kill him later, but if you make it to him in hell's kitchen, you'd do best to surrender. And remember that you don't have ti kill anna either, there is a much more "elegant" way of disposing of her later.
 I knew the code from another run through, I assumed that it would be possible to leave Paul in the hotel, then head to Battery Park and get on the chopper before the party goers showed up. Didn't take long for me to see that I wasn't supposed to be back there just yet. ;)
@Lord Bamse, I could've killed Anna the elegant way, but really, a GEP gun to the torso . . . :joke: I just couldn't resist.
I forgot to mention, I've been taking a couple screenshots here and there, mostly of oddities I stumbled across. Would anyone want to see them?

By all means, post em.

Please excuse the horrible picture quality, in the process of resizing the pictures and fixing the gamma problems they got mighty ugly. (If anyone has suggestions on a freebie program which can increase the gamma of a picture, resize it, and save it looking half decent, I'll check it out and see if I can't track down the original screenies and try again.)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/TheNightTerror/shot0002.jpgI decided to subdue the terrorists with tranquilizer darts, and apparently must've hit most of them one right after the other. I don't know if it's just me, but it almost looks like one unconscious man has his head up the ass of another . . .

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/TheNightTerror/shot0003.jpgFunny how rigor mortis already set in, the guy's not even dead! . . . yet.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/TheNightTerror/shot0014.jpgEvidently, most of 'em got away from me, but I got my assault rifle, and I got blood trails to follow . . . lots of 'em. :ebil:

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/TheNightTerror/shot0025.jpgI had to clear some space in my inventory for a weapon mod I believe, so I dropped all my med kits, and they started levitating . . . funny how I hadn't even tried any zyme yet!

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v311/TheNightTerror/shot0019.jpgAnd last, and most definitely least, here's me, and my favorite shiny blue toy. Quite likely this is the last thing most of my victims from about half way through Hong Kong on ever saw . . .
I know they're not the best, and look horrible, but hey, I tried. Hope someone finds one of them a little amusing. :)
Amazing, I refrained from showing my dismemberment of a helpless woman in black this time around . . .
Edit: I forgot my question! Bah. What's the difference between difficulty levels? I've been slowly increasing the difficulty level, I was half expected the upgrades to cost more, or there to be more enemies, or something like that. So far, there's nothing different, least nothing I can see.

Wrong thread, TNT.

I . . . uh . . .
I decided to post the first couple of screenshots here, and once I found a way to get them looking half decent, I was planning on posting some of my others in your thread once they looked good enough. Because I noticed yours when I was looking for my thread.
Yeah, that's it. . . . bah, who am I kidding?
Please excuse me, my brain has run away yet again, I need to see if anyone in the neighborhood has caught it yet.
