quite the opposite i should think. if you want actors to play lifeless computer generated ragdolls, look no further than the latest tv series shite (e.g. dark angel or whatever), popstars who want to try "acting", or soapie stars.
the only time computer games can make even semi-watchable movies is when the movie is barely related to the original game. a deus ex related movie could be watchable i suppose, but one based on either of the 2 games? yes theyre good stories for interactive computer games, but turn them into movies and you'll get unwatchable crap that even arnie would avoid.
imagine sitting down and watching someone play through deus ex in a cinema. actually, now that i think about it, the new star wars movies look kind of like they designed the games first, then based the movies on them. maybe thats why theyre so bad. plus george lucas is a poor director (but good writer).
natalie portman? bah... hasnt done any decent work since leon (the professional)
seriously, if theres ever an iw movie itll be just as good as mortal kombat: annihalation. i only watched THAT becase someone told me it was the single worst movie ever released. and it is.
EDIT: i take it all back. put Mr. T in and you have a quality reel

No, he is also a bad writer. However he does have a great imagination. Check out (
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000184/) his entry in imdb and you will see with that for the most part he came up with the story concept while someone more skilled actually wrote the script.
For whatever reason, Lucas decided to take full control over the last two Star Wars movies and as a result they are filled with cheesy dialogue and other atrocities. The scenes between Anakin and Padme are almost unwatchable.

That bit has accidently slipped-in from the bizarro world. The JLA apologizes and assures TTLG readers that steps have been taken to minimize any further contamination. Thank you.

I'm sorry for hijacking this, but I want to point something out. In the deleted scenes, there are a 3 or so which take place at Padme's parent's house, which I think, do a whole lot more for the love story then anything at the lake or in the fields. Plus, I did the math (as it were) and the aforementioned scenes are roughly the same length as either the lake or the field scenes.
For the record, I don't like what The Phantom Editor did...in principle; I may like the movie, I have yet to see it. I just finished reading the Salon article about it, and I think I should see it...maybe I can convince a friend with broadband to download it...
My question is, would simply cutting out 'the' lake scene (sand is coarse), and 'the' field scene, (Anakin pretending to be hurt by trampling) and adding in the deleted scenes, place one on the same level (whether that is a high pedastal to you, or a lowly scum-bag) as The Phantom Editor, being, as it is, a "Phantom Director/Producer"? (I can never remember which one makes the cutting decisions)
Lastly, was there ever an
Attack of the clones fan-edit?
Should I start a new thread on this, you think?

Yeah, I have seen to many moives nowaday and thought, this is obviously for a computer game. But I don't see why they should do this cause computer games sell nothing compared to movie money.... it is very strange. (Star Wars 1,2 and T3 +others I am sure , I havn't seen it but I bet the new italian job)

actually i saw a chart in a mag a while ago that claimed the video games industry (software, all platforms i think) is worth a shitload more than the film industry now. i wouldnt be suprised - a game takes 10x what a movie does per sale. and look at places like japan, korea and taiwan - huge populations who love their games.
nintendo sold an obscene number of n64's in japan with the release of zelda. i wonder how many dvd players george lucas has sold :p
