If you can find DX2 on eBay for about $10 to $30 (which you should be able to) then defenitely get it.

Thanks,
But about that high-end system:
Atlon 2700XP
512mb ddr memory
128mb geforce fx 5600
Will this do?
The demo went fine and I can drive Doom 3 on high (farcry medium/high)

trust me,if you want deus ex,the first game is the way to go.the first game has probably nicer graphics as well, and there is a (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?t=92849) work in progress mod that will fix the low-poly models.deus ex1 owns deus ex 2 in every and any way..

Just so you dont feel lonely, I agree.
To the thread starter, why dont you download the demos of both and see which you like for yourself?
If you have a good net connection I would get Halflife as the mods and multiplayer will probably be good value. I dont have it myself because I hated Halflife 1 and this valve thing sucks, but the demo seemed OK-ish.
DXIW had some occasional nice bits but it felt about 25% finished.
Personally I much prefer Doom 3 to the other 2, but maybe you have it already?
